Terms and Criteria for National Readers' Choice Award Books
1. The book's publishing date must have been in the last five years.
2. The author must be a citizen of the U.S.A.
3. An author can only have one book on the list at a time.
4. The book cannot have received a Newbery Medal.
5. If the book is part of a series, the book must be the first book of the series to be considered on the list.
6. The list must contain a variety of genres, including but not limited to: Mystery, Science Fiction, Realistic Fiction, Historical Fiction, Action/Adventure, and Sports. The genre these books are given will be based on the opinion of the two judges.
7. The book must promote insightful thinking and conversations. This, of course, is at the discretion of the judges.
